| Recording artist, Sarah
Atereth gains critical acclaim and popular support
for her debut album, Beguile. Songstress Atereth is
renowned for her unique writer’s voice, and sultry
vocal style. Her debut single, “You Wouldn’t Know
How,” remixed by Tony Moran/Warren Rigg and Mike
Rizzo roared into clubs and onto the radio with
smashing success, hitting #3 on the DJ Times
National Dance/Crossover Chart. “You’ll find
yourself wanting to spin and bop around the dance
floor- or across your own living room with the
volume blasting on the stereo,” exclaims writer
Chris S. Witwer.
Sarah’s second single, “Out Of My Mind” hit
top ten on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play Chart.
Sarah’s latest, “Fade Away” was the number one most
added song to dance radio in April. Sarah’s “The
Remix’s EP” debuted at number one in the UK knocking
Deep Dish’s remix of Stevie Nicks’ “Dreams” out of
the top spot.
Sarah is the writer, or co-writer on every
song of Beguile. Her lyrics are at once profound,
graceful and sublime, expressing a deep well of
emotion, a keen intellect and elegant musicality.
These gifts set her apart from much of the noise in
the current marketplace.
Rick Chertoff, one of the most respected
talents in music, produced Beguile. He is behind
breakthrough recordings for Cyndi Lauper, Joan
Osborne, Sophie B. Hawkins and the Hooters. Sarah is
his latest artist.
Sarah has always stayed her own ground. The
recording of Beguile is no exception. In an effort
to create the album she wanted to make, Sarah
co-founded her own record label, aptly titled
Beguile Records. This vehicle provided Sarah the
opportunity to retain her artistic integrity. Sarah
is involved in all steps of the record making
process. She enjoys everything from collaborating
with songwriters and musicians in the studio to
helping design the album artwork.
Sarah discovered early the joy of music, dance
and writing. Growing up in Denver, Sarah pursued her
passions knowing the arts would be her life’s path.
She graduated high school as valedictorian.
Subsequently, she came to New York to study voice
with revered Juilliard professor Beverley Johnson.
While completing her degree at Columbia
University, Sarah immersed herself in the City’s
dance scene. Her undeniable talent thrived while
training with such luminaries as Fred Benjamin, head
of the Jazz department at Alvin Ailey American Dance
Theatre, and assisting at the American Ballet
Theatre Intensive Summer Program.
In addition to Sarah’s love of music and
dance, she enjoys traveling and learning about
foreign cultures first-hand. You might find her in
the Church of Our Lady Before Tyn in Prague, or the
Map Room in the Vatican. She is inspired by many
different art forms. Her favorite movies include
Lawrence Of Arabia, Cinema Paradiso and
Woman In The Dunes. Sarah is an avid reader
and includes A Fine Balance and Dancing On
My Grave among her favorite books.
